for week of June 11, 2007: Casing clamp (noun) A device that is attached to the hoisting cable and is clamped onto the top of the casing during its installation, to allow the casing to be lowered into the borehole. This device replaces the use of a horizontal bar that at one time was commonly used for support. See bar hole. |
