His knowledge of contaminant transport and risk to human health and the environment from various chemicals of concern allows him to provide alternative cost-effective cleanup solutions for his clients. In addition to his environmental background, Mr. Hanson has developed an impressive project list of water resources related projects including design and rehabilitation of public supply wells, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), permitting, and water quality evaluations. With Clear Creek Associates, Mr. Hanson has managed the design and construction of more than 15 ASR wells, several vadose zone injection wells, and groundwater recharge basins. He has also conducted studies to enhance performance of recharge facilities. He is intimately familiar with the State’s Aquifer Protection Permit and Underground Storage Facility programs having permitted over a dozen sites. He has authored papers and given presentations on the methods and impacts of groundwater recharge and is actively involved in siting studies and water quality issues associated with Indirect Potable Reuse of reclaimed water. Staying abreast of the State-of-the-Science of groundwater recharge has allowed Mr. Hanson to develop a reputation for technical excellence with State agencies while providing Practical Solutions in Groundwater Science to a growing number of clients intent of conserving and reusing our precious water resources.
