Representative projects include:
• 52nd Street Superfund site, Phoenix, Arizona: Clear Creek Associates has been retained by Freescale Semiconductor (formerly Motorola) in soil, soil-gas, and groundwater investigations, and in groundwater-modeling projects, litigation support, groundwater-remedy design, implementation and optimization support, regulatory and settlement issues, and community-involvement support. The 52nd Street Superfund site is one of the nation’s most complex sites, involving multiple operable units, numerous responsible parties, and the presence of DNAPL in fractured bedrock.
• APS Buckeye, Arizona, voluntary remediation site: We assessed the nature and extent of BTEX and MTBE impacts on subsurface soils and the local aquifer. The site was remediated through the design, installation, and operation of an air sparge/soil vapor extraction system and a barrier of ORCTM (oxygen release compound).
• Silverbell Landfill Superfund site, Tucson, Arizona: We built and used a numerical fate and transport model to develop a remedial action plan for PCE-contaminated groundwater at the former landfill site.
